Conversation context

Contacts is everyone who has messaged you or entered a flow, with the details you’ve collected along the way. Open a profile to see their tags, saved answers and flow history, so your next reply starts from what you already know.

Each contact belongs to a connected Instagram account. Switch accounts to see one list at a time, or view everyone in the workspace.

Tags and filters

Tags group people by what matters to you: an interest, a request, a stage in the conversation. Add them one at a time, to several contacts at once, or automatically with a Data step in a flow. A Condition step can then route people by tag.

Search by handle, name, or a saved detail such as an email. Filter by tag, by which details are saved, or by when they were added. Picking several filters shows people who match all of them.

Saved answers

When an Ask for Input step asks a question, the answer is saved under the field name you choose. It shows up in Details on the contact’s profile and in the Inbox. Edit or remove it there, or update it with a Data step in a flow.

Use saved details to personalize messages and branch your flows. Save what someone is interested in once, and send the right resource next time without asking again.

Forms sent from a flow can save chosen answers to the contact too; pick which ones in the form builder. A response to a form shared by link does not create a contact on its own.

Conversation history

The Conversation section shows the latest message, the unread count, and whether automation or a teammate is handling things. Open in Inbox shows the full thread and lets you reply. The profile also lists the flows this person has been through recently.

Having someone in Contacts does not by itself let you message them. Instagram’s messaging windows and their opt-out still apply.

CSV import

Import CSV adds details to people already in Contacts. Ravela matches the username column against the connected account you choose. It never creates new contacts; rows that don’t match are listed in the preview.

Add names, email addresses, tags and other details. Existing names and details stay unless you choose to overwrite them. Tags are added, never replaced, and a saved email is never overwritten.

Check the preview, fix any conflicting rows, and confirm you have permission to import the information. Up to 5,000 rows per import. An imported email address is not consent, and it does not start any email.

Export and permissions

Export CSV downloads everyone matching your current search and filters, with their tags and saved details, not just the page on screen. Included on Pro and above.

Owners, admins and editors can edit details, manage tags and import. Support teammates can view and export, but not edit or import.

Active Contacts

Contacts is your list. Active Contacts is what your plan counts each month. Someone becomes active when Ravela handles an interaction with them: a DM either way, a flow run, an Inbox reply, an email sent to them, or a file delivered.

Each person counts once per connected account per calendar month, however many times you talk. Someone who talks to two of your accounts counts once for each. Workspaces on the same billing account share one allowance.

The count resets on the first of the month at midnight UTC, on annual plans too. Keeping someone in Contacts, or updating them by CSV, does not make them active.

Extra usage is off until the owner turns it on in Billing and sets a cap, in contacts or in dollars. The pricing page lists each plan’s allowance.
