Webhook results

Send a request to another service, route on its result, and use selected response fields later in the flow.

Send a request

Add a Webhook from Integrations to connect a flow to an external service. Configure its URL, method, and any headers or body it needs. The request timeout is 10 seconds by default, adjustable from 1 to 30 seconds.

Use a public endpoint you control or are allowed to call. Ravela blocks private and internal network addresses. Preview does not contact the service.

Choose a route for each result

Turn on Branch on result and connect all three outputs. When this option is off, the node continues on its shared path after the request, including when the request fails.

  • Success — the service returned HTTP 2xx and any response fields you requested could be read. This confirms the response, not that a later task in that service has finished.
  • Failed — an HTTP error, blocked destination, network error, or a response field that is missing or cannot be saved.
  • Timed out — the request or response took longer than the allowed time.

Use a response field later

Under Response fields, select Add field. Enter a dot-separated path from the JSON response and a short name for it in your flow. For example, path data.customer.id with name customerId makes the value available as {{webhook.customerId}}.

You can map up to 10 fields. Paths can include an array position, such as items.0.id. The value must be text, a number, a boolean, or JSON null — not a whole object or list. Paths are not code or formulas.

Each request replaces the previous webhook results. A missing value is not filled with an older response. These values belong to the current run; use a Data node if you want to save one on the contact record.

Plan for failure without repeating an action

Ravela does not automatically retry the request. A timeout or lost response does not prove the other service did nothing: it may already have created the record or performed the action. Check that service before retrying an action that must happen only once.

Connect Failed and Timed out to a useful alternative, such as Notify Team. Preview lets you walk each route, but it cannot supply the service’s real response values. Use a test endpoint when checking an actual request, and avoid sending unnecessary contact details.
